Executive Director, Tom Mooers

tom mooersTom has worked as an advocate for land conservation in California for eighteen years. Before joining the staff of Sierra Watch in 2001, Tom worked as Field Director for Greenbelt Alliance in the San Francisco Bay Area and as Assistant Executive Director of the League to Save Lake Tahoe. Tom is also a graduate of the Green Corps Field School for Environmental Organizing and the University of California, Los Angeles. He lives happily ever after with his growing family in historic Nevada City.

Staff Attorney, Isaac Silverman

Isaac is an environmental attorney and organizerSilverman Isaac with deep roots in the Sierra Nevada. He grew up in the Placer County Foothills where a childhood spent exploring the nearby rivers, forests, and mountains instilled a lasting appreciation for the unique beauty found in the range of light.  A veteran of multiple environmental campaigns before joining Sierra Watch in 2014, Isaac worked as legal clerk for the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and Natural Resources Defense Council, as a consultant to the climate and air program at Environmental Defense Fund, and as an advocate and organizer at Environment America.  He holds a degree in Environmental Analysis from Pomona College and a JD from UCLA School of Law.

Isaac’s work at Sierra Watch is supported by a Leadership Development Grant from Switzer Family Foundation.

When he is not working you’ll probably find him in the mountains, hiking, climbing, riding his bike, or snowboarding.

Field Representative, Chase Schweitzer

Chase’s love for North Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada runs deep. He grew up skiing and snowboarding in Squaw Valley and has lived in North Lake Tahoe on and off for the last 10 years while pursuing his education. A recent graduate of UC Berkeley, Chase has proven experience in communications and journalism, as well as organizing volunteers for meaningful service projects. He is grateful to work where he lives and plays, while also playing his part in preserving the environment and heritage of the greater Sierra Nevada range.

Operations Manager, Chris Postlewaite

chris postelwaiteChris has many years experience with project and department management. He has been designing and managing data base applications for more than 20 years. He also owned and operated Postlewaite Consulting, as an information technology and data base consultant, specializing in the conservation arena. He lives in Grass Valley with his wife Susan.
